Find the Nerd on the Web
Platform: A desktop browser. Status: Playable by testers now, headed for CrazyGames.
Tester beta
What it is
Chapter one of Find the Nerd, whole, in a browser tab: The spinning worlds of First Light, the crowds, the four droids and the Nerds to find. It ends on a card that points back here. Nothing installs, nothing asks for an account. The title screen shows one Campaign card; the Daily Mission, the Labs and the Archives live on the phone.
Controls
- Mouse
- Left drag glides around the world, the wheel zooms, right drag rotates, click taps.
- Keyboard
- WASD and the arrows glide, Q and E rotate.
- Touch
- Works too, the same as on the phone.
The floppy disk economy
Points become floppy disks, one disk for every hundred points, and abilities cost disks: A Time Anchor is 1, a Prism Sweep 10, a Survey Sweep 25, a Signal Ping 50. Catching a droid hands you a disk. Run short and a card offers a rewarded transmission.
Saves live in your browser. The web edition never posts to or reads the mobile leaderboards.
What you need
A current Chrome, Edge or Firefox on a computer. The tester build is the full package, about 580 MB on first load, so give it a minute on a good connection. After that the browser cache carries it.
Where it is going
CrazyGames. Their cap is 250 MB and the target is under 100 MB, so the build that goes there is a trimmed one, not this one. Once it is submitted, their review takes one to two weeks, and the link lands here and on the mission brief the day it opens.
How to try it now
The web edition lives in the private tester area beside the Android build. Testers get a personal login by email.
Stills
Captured from the current build. The web edition plays chapter one, First Light.
